Dr. Umer is a Neural engineering researcher with Ph.D. Engineering specialized in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Brain Computer Interface (BCI). Having 18 years of diverse industrial, academic and research experience with more than 65 peer reviewed publications, patent, and Books in areas of Neuroergonomics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Learning, and Brain Computer Interface (BCI). Currently he is serving as Dy Director NUST (Quality Assurance - Academic Audit and Accreditation) at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), also Adjunct Professor, Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He is also the Vice Chairperson of IEEE (USA) Robotics & Automation Society Islamabad Pakistan and Chief Advisor Artificial Intelligence - Medical City online - United Kingdom. Dr. Umer collaborated in various Research Projects including European Commission Horizon 2020 project ENHANCE. His research focuses on the development of new BCI-technology for mental workload assessment-based models for humans to perform in advanced socio-technical environments. Dr. Umer also chairs a Flagship Conference “International conference on Industrial Cognitive Ergonomics and Engineering Psychology (AHFE - ICEEP)” each year in the USA. He is editor of various Books, Journals and has numerous leadership roles in several projects of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Neuroscience and Robotics having national and international significance.
